AGILE detection of enhanced gamma-ray activity from the S5 0836+71 (4C +71.07) region
Abstract
AGILE is detecting intense gamma-ray emission above 100 MeV from a source in Galactic coordinates (l,b)=(143.06, 34.22) deg (R.A., Dec.= 130.099 71.33 deg, J2000), with a statistical 95% c.l. elliptical error region with major and minor axes of 0.87 deg and 0.48 deg, respectively, plus a systematical uncertainty of 0.1 deg. The roll angle of major axis from the north direction is -35.0 deg counterclockwise.
